FAQ’S If I am investing in property with a mortgage, what happens if interest rates rise sharply? Any seasoned property investor will make sure that they are protected from rate rises by fixing their mortgage rate. We have excellent contacts with major lenders who will allow you to fix your rate from 1 year to 10years and in some cases beyond. How much do I need to invest in a buy-to- let property? If you are buying a single house or apartment generally you will need a 15% deposit. If this is not readily available, then we can arrange for it to be raised elsewhere. If I invest in a Blues Property development project how much will I need and what is the likely rate of return? We look for a minimum investment of £50,000 and in most cases can guarantee a return of between 10 to 40% according to the financial structure and location of the project. How do I know that my money is safe? When investing in a Blues Property project you will have a second charge over the property or one of the other properties within our portfolio. Do you deal only in Cambridge? No, we have projects in other major cities that we have identified as having strong rental markets and potential for capital growth. What kind of returns can I expect on my buy- to- let investment? Rental yields in Cambridge can vary enormously according to the type of property. Returns of between 3 and 8% are the norm.
